Armorize Partners with Symantec to Deliver Anti-Malvertising Solution at Online Trust Alliance Forum 2011

Armorize partners with Symantec to provide its powerful anti-malvertising technology to Symantec’s new solution, AdVantage, to help customers protect themselves from the growing threat of malicious advertising attacks.

Washington D.C. - October 17, 2011 – Armorize Technologies, Inc., the global leader in web malware detection solutions and creator of HackAlert and HackAlert Safe-Impressions, has announced it has joined forces with Symantec at the Online Trust Alliance's Online Trust Forum 2011 in Washington, D.C. The partnership will utilize the advanced malware detection engine from Armorize's successful HackAlert product lines to power Symantec's new cloud-based anti-malvertising solution, Symantec AdVantage.

The Symantec AdVantage solution will provide its customers with the ability to monitor the ads displayed on their websites for web malware. The product dashboard will also present valuable statistics which enable publishers to compare the quality of ads and ad networks they work with based on the safety ratings and reputation scores for each specific ad or network.

"Malvertising poses a serious risk to online publishers and their customers, reputation and revenue. Highly publicized malvertising infections can damage the reputation of even the most trusted online sites. Symantec AdVantage will provide ad publishers the tools they need to protect their businesses by fighting back against these threats," said Fran Rosch, Vice President, Identity and Authentication Services, Symantec Corp.

Researchers from the Armorize Research Lab recently employed this same anti-malvertising engine to uncover several high profile malvertising incidents including premier online advertising names such as Google Doubleclick, Yahoo Yield Manager, and the newly released diagnosis of the lifecycle of an OpenX malvertising outbreak.

In response to the partnership announcement Wayne Huang, CEO of Armorize Technologies, said, "Up until now, even the largest publishers do not possess insight into exactly what ads are presenting to their visitors. The Symantec Advantage is the first of its kind to redefine visitor experience analytics. Using the latest malware detection techniques in conjunction with Armorize, the Symantec AdVantage traces ad analytics from the visitor perspective and ask the question "what do they see" and expand to questions like "what is the quality and security of the content they see."
